Ringling Bridge Area - Updated 9/11/07

There is a set of rubble from the original Ringling Bridge that several boaters have encountered with severe damage to their boats. Mike Solum of Sarasota County has place a hazard mark at this location 27°19.792'N / 82°33.372'W . Due to the poor holding ground in this area, the hazard mark may be pulled off station. The best course when traveling south from the Ringling Bridge is to stay strictly on the Intracoastal. On September 10th the Coast Guard installed a new lighted G11 mark near R10 that will be a great help so that boaters avoid the dangers.
