The categories of dress at the Sarasota Yacht Club are as follows:
MEN’S CLUB UNIFORM - Navy blue blazer with Club emblem on left breast pocket, white or gray slacks, white collared shirt with Sarasota Yacht Club tie, white shoes, socks and belt.  Name tag on right lapel and collar insignia as appropriate.
LADIES’ CLUB UNIFORM - Navy blue blazer with Club emblem on left breast pocket, white shirt, white or gray skirt, white shoes, white belt, Sarasota Yacht Club scarf or crossover tie.  Name tag on right lapel and collar insignia as appropriate.
MEN’S SUMMER UNIFORM - White uniform short-sleeve shirt with epaulets, black insignia shoulder boards over epaulets, no scarf or tie, white slacks, shoes and socks and belt.  Name tag above right pocket of shirt.
LADIES’ SUMMER UNIFORM - White uniform short-sleeve shirt with epaulets, black insignia shoulder boards over epaulets, no tie, white slacks, dress or skirt, shoes and belt. Name tag above right pocket of shirt.
BLACK TIE - Gentlemen wear tuxedos, dinner jacket or military dress uniform.  Ladies wear dressy evening attire.
BLACK TIE OPTIONAL - Gentlemen wear tuxedos, dinner jacket, dark suit or military dress uniform.  Ladies wear dressy evening attire.
JACKET REQUIRED - Gentlemen wear suits and trousers, dress shirt and tie (optional).  Ladies wear dresses or suits, long or short skirts or dressy slacks and tops.
COCKTAIL CASUAL - Gentlemen wear dressy slacks, collared shirt, turtleneck or dressy collared shirt with sleeves. Ladies wear skirts, dressy slacks and tops.
For gentlemen and ladies - no jeans (unless accompanied by sports coat and dress shoes), no shorts from October 15 - April 15.  Upscale denim is allowed.
CASUAL - Gentlemen wear slacks, jeans or shorts, collared or collarless (no sleeveless) shirts.  Ladies wear skirts, dressy slacks or shorts and tops.
PORTHOLE TERRACE - Casual or pool deck attire with appropriate cover up and shoes or sandals.
POOL DECK - Bathing suits and bathing attire.
NOT PERMITTED IN THE CLUBHOUSE: Men’s sleeveless shirts, bathing suits, thongs, bare feet, tank tops, tube or halter tops, torn, tattered, frayed, faded or cut-off clothing or soiled work garments.
PERMITTED: Hats and caps are permitted in the Porthole Bar, Lounge and Terrace until 5:00 p.m. in the winter and after 5:00 p.m. in the summer.
